I LOST THE KEYS TO MY HEAD by Nirvana Li

I lost the keys to my head
To him, in a silly gamble
Now
My head is his abode
And he comes and goes
As he pleases
He loves to take
the lid off my skull
and lock himself
from the inside
Then he rolls
and unrolls
my poor
mound of brain
like a kitten would
a ball of yarn
Every time I set out
To find another
One who could help
To exorcise him
He leaps out of my head
Right onto my path
Remembering well
My Achilles heel
He arranges himself
In front of me
in a somber pile of ruins.
